Canon PowerShot S120 won’t power on.

My s120 seems to have given up. I made sure the original NB-6L battery was fully charged and the sd card is inserted, nothing. I have tried replacing the batteries but that won’t work. I even tried cleaning the pins with isopropyl alcohol and that did nothing. I saw a video on youtube someone bought a dummy battery with a cord attached and plugged it into the wall but that was for a DSLR that won’t turn on, should i even try that for mine?
