Cannot reset to factory settings. Says busy.

After six years of punch buttons, it's time to reset my Canon G11 to the factory default settings.  However, all I get is the 'busy" signal.

Very odd...try taking out the battery and any memory cards then hold the power on switch in the on position for at least 30 seconds...replace the battery and try again

I took out the battery and memory card.  When I hit the power button it just went down and stayed down.  After 45 seconds I replaced the battery & card and when I hit the power button it came back up.  I tried the reset button and again I get an open hand with a line through it and a busy signal.  Thanks, tho.

Is it possible that this may relate to the network? I cannot reset my canon camcoder before, but reset help.
