Since installing the free upgrade to windows 10 i cannot use my Canon ip1700 PIXMA printer.
Finally i actually got win10 to detect my printer, which was a major break through, but now when I try to print a document I always get this same error:
"Cannot communicate with the printer.
Turn Enable bi-directional support on in the printer's Properties dialog box."
I cannot find any setting in properties that even mentions "bidirectional support"

hmm i downlaoded this file from canon site;
mypr-win-3_3_0-ea11_2.exe
... and now i printed a page using
Canon Inkjet iP1700 (Copy 1)
should i delete the original printer?

I need to enable bi-directionals, it said they were in the printers property dialogue box. Can' find that.
