My MF8280CW printer works just fine and about 5 years old. But, when print output starts, runs, ends it makes a new noise that sounds like plastic parts sliding/rotating against each other and is squeaky oscillating sound. Not serious today but seems like a small dab of silicone lube would fix it.
What should I use for lube, where to apply lube, how to open machine outer case to access the squeaky areas?
Machine out of warranty. I am not paying Canon service to fix a simple squeak. I am a product development design engineer and am very capable repair tech.
Please advise and provide link to repair manual.

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The imageCLASS MF8280Cw is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!
You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.
Hope this helps!
