imageCLASS MF665Cdw won't scan, returns 162, 0, 0

ImageClass MF665Cdw, new, just installed on Win10, connected via wired ethernet

It prints, just won't scan.  The scan utility seems to find my printer, it's listed in the Scanner menu in the top right.

"Canon Network Scanner Selector EX2" is active, it shows my scanner and it is selected.

Do we know what "Code 162, 0, 0" means?

BTW the forum makes me pick a board, how do I know?  Is my MF665 an "Office" printer?  It's just for home use.  Let me know if it should be on another board.

I tried to add the printer model under "Associated Products", but it doesn't like anything I enter.

Greetings,

You've posted on the correct board.  🙂

Error 162,0,0

I see you are using the printer with Windows 10.  What drivers did you install?

All drivers  for your printer are available here:

Do you, or did you have another Canon printer/scanner installed prior to installing the MF665Cdw?

The Canon Network Scanner Selector EX2 is not an application I'd expect to see with the MF665Cdw?

This might be related to the problem you are experiencing. 🤔

Thanks for answering.

Being a non-expert, I just followed the prompts and installed whatever it told me to.  If you need the versions of what it installed, I'd need instructions on how to find out.

Sorry, I didn't answer your question.

No, I have never had any other Canon software installed before this, that I know of. I've never had a Canon printer before this.

Oh and you gave a link to the error codes, thanks.  Code 162 says:

The device is busy with another job (print/copy/scan).Wait until the current job is complete then start the scan job again.

It's a new device, so I don't know why there'd be another job.  I did reboot the PC and turn the printer off and back on.  Is there any other way to look for a "current job"?
