imageCLASS MF644Cdw- Setting up "Scan to Email" using IONOS SMTP! Help!

  • Using RemoteUI, gone to Settings & Registration > Network Settings > Port Number Settings
    • I set the SMTP port to 465
  • Using RemoteUI, gone to Settings & Registration > TX Settings > E-Mail/I-Fax Settings
    • SMTP server: smtp.ionos.com
    • E-mail address: (username)@(website name).com
    • Use SMTP authentication (SMTP Auth): checked yes
      • Username: (username)@(website name).com
      • Password: (my ionosl password)
    • Use TLS for SMTP: checked yes

Before Mar.31, 2025, it was working good for couple years. After Apr.1, 2025, the printer shows error #841 and can't send out email at all. Anyone has the same issue recently? It really makes me crazy.

Hello!

The sudden inability to send emails from your printer via IONOS SMTP after April 1, 2025, with error #841, strongly suggests a change in IONOS's SMTP server requirements or configuration. Verify your IONOS SMTP settings in the printer's RemoteUI, experiment with TLS versions and port 587 with STARTTLS if available, ensure stable network connectivity, reboot devices, and check for printer firmware updates. Most importantly, contact IONOS support to inquire about any recent changes to their SMTP policies or server configurations, as this is the most likely cause. Also, check the printer's error logs for more details.

Thanks for your reply. I do think IONOS's SMTP server requirements has been changed. However, they said they didn't change anything. I also changed the port from 587 to 465, but it's not working.
