Trouble with initializing new Pro-1100 printer

JLBell

Now that I have my new printer registered....

New printer arrives Friday 1/24. I go to set it up a day later on Saturday the 25th. I find the documentation to be poor and scattered over five different documents. So I search YouTube to look for installation instructions and find a very good unboxing/set-up video. I follow along starting with inserting the inks and then waiting for the printer screen to then instruct me to then install the printer head, as what is shown on the video. Inks installed and printer makes some noises & then the screen shows an error: B400. Essentially, shutdown & reboot the printer. I try this, printer starts, makes the same noises and again, the same error. I try it again, but this time unplug, wait a few minutes and then plug it back in and turn on the printer. Noises, same error.

I cannot call support because this global company is closed on Sundays.

So, I'm asking if there's anything I can do now or should I just wait until tomorrow and call Canon support? The printer never made it to the "install printer head" dialogue on the screen. Should I try that (with power off move head to the open position, install printer head & push back into start position) & see what then happens?

Thanks for any inputs.

I am unfamiliar with the printer in question, so I would call Customer Support on Monday morning.  They should be able to look up the error code and go from there. 🙂

Canon has an error code page and the code on my printer's display just says to turn off the printer then turn it back on, the same instructions that are given on the error code website.

Power cycling is commonly done to try to resolve various issues. If repeated attempts fail to work, then a deeper dive is needed to figure out what is going on.
