PIXMA MX922 front and back printing doesn't line up

I am using my printer to print a double-sided image. I am printing the sides, one at a time so after it first print, I flip it over in the right orientation and put it back in the tray. Then after I print my second image I put it into the light and they don’t lineup. It’s like a quarter of an inch off and it’s in any direction and it’s random. I’ve tried everything I can find like cleaning the encoding strip, refilling the ink, resetting the paper tray, and making sure my image is perfect. I am running low on other things to try and I’m getting hopeless. Does anybody know what I should do so my images are back to back. Sometimes it’s random and works perfectly back to back but most of the time I have to print it five times before it does it right. that’s not even true. I did like seven times in a row hasn’t done it once. Please help me.

Hello,
1. Printer Settings
Check for Duplex Printing Features: If your printer supports duplex (double-sided) printing, use its built-in feature instead of manually flipping the paper. This ensures precise alignment.
Paper Type and Size: Ensure the paper type and size settings in the printer driver match the paper you're using.
Margins and Alignment: Some printers allow you to adjust margins or alignment through their software or driver settings. Look for a "calibration" option.
2. Paper Handling
Avoid Shifting During Flipping: When flipping the paper, handle it carefully to avoid bending or misaligning the stack. Always place the paper in the same orientation and position in the tray.
Use Quality Paper: Poor-quality or too-thin paper can lead to slipping or misfeeds. Use heavier paper for better stability.
Ensure the Tray Is Loaded Properly: Ensure the paper sits snugly in the tray and that the guides are adjusted tightly to the paper's edges.
3. Printer Maintenance
Encoding Strip: While you've cleaned it, make sure it’s seated correctly and not damaged.
Rollers: Clean the printer's rollers with a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol. Dirty rollers can cause slight paper movement.
Firmware Update: Check if your printer has a firmware update available that might address alignment issues.
4. Image Preparation
Alignment Templates: Use alignment templates in design software to ensure your front and back designs are symmetrical and centered.
Print Margins: Ensure the front and back designs are within the same margins and spacing to reduce misalignment risks.
5. Test and Adjust
Test With Scrap Paper: Before printing on the final paper, use plain scrap paper to experiment with orientations and placements.
Print Calibration Page: Some printers offer calibration tools that print a test page to help you make adjustments.
6. Environment and Printer Type
Temperature and Humidity: Ensure the environment is not too humid or dry, as this can affect paper feeding.
Consider an Upgrade: If your printer consistently struggles with this issue, it might not be optimized for precise double-sided manual printing. Investing in a printer with better alignment capabilities might save time and frustration.
7. Manual Flip Orientation
Create a guide to help you consistently orient the paper correctly for flipping. Marking the non-printed side lightly with a pencil can help track any discrepancies.
Best Regards
bella
