I just installed this printer for USB connection and I didn't get any errors. For some reason it does NOT show in the "Devices and Printers" list as a new printer. From Control Panel I can see the printer and other loaded programs.
This printer worked for the first time out of the box then all of a sudden stopped printing from my Windows 7 (64 bit). It makes no sense at all that it stopped working the second day it was installed.
1. I've rebooted many times
2. I've uninstalled and rebooted many times
3. I've reinstalled from original CD many times
4. Yes the USB cable is plugged in on both ends and yes the printer is turned on
With no error messages I have nothing to troubleshoot.
I will give Canon a call and I hope their tech support is actually helpful not like 99% of the other companies I've called.
