New Canon MF665Cdw Time To Start Printing, 20 second delay to start printing

Just bought a new Canon MF665Cdw printer, to replace my 6 year old Canon MF644Cdw.  Old printer started printing almost instantly.  This new printer takes about 20 seconds to start printing, whether from deep sleep and cold or even after it has warmed up with a couple jobs (15 seconds wait).  Is this a normal amount of time for this printer, does anyone know?

I asked Google AI if this was normal for this printer and was told yes, due to advanced features from my old one.  But I've found Google AI to miss the boat about 20% of the time, so thought I'd hit up the Canon Board for the correct answer to this 20 second wait before print time?

There is no difference between the MF644Cdw and MF665Cdw times to print first page.

Both are approximately 11 seconds.  

The additional time you are seeing might be due to network configuration, latency or the device you're printing from.  My 644 and 656 will both start printing in about 10 or 12 seconds  regardless of the device I'm using.  Cold or warm start.  I never turned my printers off. They both sleep.

Both of these printers are connected to wireless networks using a static IP.  I've installed them as TCP/IP printers on Windows and Mac and on the Canon Print App (Android).

If you'd like more assistance, please share more information about the connection method being used and the network configuration.

Thank you Rick... sure seemed like my older 644 was just a few seconds and on USB.  This 665 seems def longer though, but not by that much I guess.

Since you are connecting via USB, is the USB connected directly to the motherboard or are you using a hub or adapter.  You'd want to use a direct connection.  Ensure the cable is USB 2.0 or higher.

Direct to the MB, I built the machine (top shelf).  I've have it plugged into a blue USB 3.0 slot.  Possible there could be a cable issue though.  I think all of my printer cable stash is 3.0 or better, I've weeded out everything suspect I think, but hard to tell with unbranded cables.  Will try another, just in case.  Good thought...

Checked my stash, all printer cables are 2.0, no 3.0 cables (9 pin)... but the 665 doesn't support 3.0 anyway, so should be good to go with current cable.
