I bought this scanner/printer a couple of months ago. We are an Apple house. First thing was easy - plugged it in and the printer works (2 Macs, 1 iPad). Then I went to hook up the scanning. The Mac was my old backup on OS 10.15.7. It took a little tinkering with the settings but it scans fine.
Went today to set it up on my primary Mac, which is OS 15.5. Printer was working, don't need the fax, so I just downloaded the scan software from the Canon CD. Scan utility is 1.10.8. Went to use it and the computer and the scanner talk to each other but when I scan a document, the scanner acts like it is finished but gives me an internal error of 10.202.3.
So what am I doing wrong or is there a simplified setup checklist that I can use?

Greetings,
Please use the link below, visit the support portal for your product and download the latest installers for Mac OS Sequoia. They were released on 6/2025.
This is preferred to using the included CD which was manufactured when the printer was packaged and shipped from the manufacture. It could be very old.
