MF4350 - Stretched, compressed and distorted copies and prints

Canon MF4350d multifunction.  Intermittently, the copies and prints come out looking stretched or compressed, both text and pictures, in several areas of the page  Have followed the cleaning procedures according to the Basic Operation Guide.  Any suggestions as to what might be causing this problem.

Hi autoranz.

If you are experiencing distorted printouts, there could be a communication issue between the printer and the computer.  Please review the following items:

1. Move the USB cable to another open port on the computer and then print a few documents and verify if you receive the same error.
2. Do you have any devices, such as a USB hub or switch connected between the printer and the computer?  If so, please remove the device and connect the printer directly to the computer.
3. How long is the USB cable?  We recommend using a cable that is no longer than ten feet.
4. Replace the USB cable.
