LBP632Cdw swallowed an envelope, where did it go?

Hello - I've had this printer for about 6 months, and I went to print an envelope for the first time. I fed the envelope into the Multi Purpose Tray feeder and the printer immediately sucked the envelope inside. When I queued up a print job, it printed on normal paper from the paper tray. No matter which tray I select at the menu or in the print dialog box, it always prints from the paper tray.

I have no idea where the envelope went or how to get it out. I opened up both ends of the printer and I don't see the envelope anywhere. What's weird is the printer otherwise seems to behave normally.

Greetings,

Try removing the lower paper tray, then carefully tilt the printer backwards and look for the envelope in the feeding mechanism.  It's probably crumpled up somewhere. How it's not causing a paper jam is pretty remarkable though.  🤔

Completely agree. I can't see it from either the front or the rear tray, even with a flashlight. Craziest thing. I know it went in but I have no idea where it wound up. It's like it went to the other dimension where lost socks go. But printer still prints perfectly.

Take out everything that is removable...toner cartridges/drums, feeder parts, delivery parts, and look.... It's got to be somewhere. Hard to believe it's stuck somewhere and not making any noise or getting shredded.

OK, thank you everyone who replied. I've been using Brother printers for 20 years and this is my first Canon.

Anyway, I found the envelope. What I did not realize is that in addition to the paper tray (which is removable on every printer), on the Canon the multi-function envelope thing is also removable. Not true of Brother printers. And that's where the envelope was. Apparently it had gotten sucked in far enough to be hidden in the envelope feeder that I couldn't see it anymore, but not so far in that it caused a jam or interfered with the printer function. So, mystery solved.
