I tried to configure my ImageClass MF4880dw with an WPA/WPA2-PSK encyrption key that was alphanumeric. The printer would not authenticate when all other devices could. I then simplified the encryption key to be something simple like "aaaaaaaaaa" to ensure that I could not mistype. Yet again, it would not take it.
Only when I changed the encryption key to be purely numeric can the printer finally connect to my wireless router. I find this a very poor limitation since it exposes a security threat by not allowing random alphanumeric key.
Can we get a firmware upgrade that can allow alphanumeric encryption keys?
