I have a 15+ year old imageCLASS MF6550. Its driver is "Canon MF6500 series UFR LT" version 2.0.0.0 dated sometime in 2007.
Does the recently announced Canon "Generic Plus UFR II Printer Driver" (V3.12 and earlier) vulnerability also apply to Canon model-specific (or, at least, named as model-specific) UFR II drivers from before the Generic Plus UFR II driver series?
See: https://psirt.canon/advisory-information/cp2025-003/
This recently announced vulnerability affects, in Canon's own vague words, "Certain Printer Drivers for Production Printers, Office/Small Office Multifunction Printers and Laser Printers". But they don't give a list of which devices are affected, and whether there are drivers _older_ than a particular age that are _not_ vulnerable, or that despite similar names are _not_ affected.
So, Does the MF6550 require the recent Generic IFR II driver security patch?
thanks.

Hi libove,
Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The imageCLASS MF6550 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!
You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you find a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.
Hope this helps!
