Canon magnify 2150

I have purchased a magnify 2150 by Canon and hooked it up to my computer here in France. I cannot get it to print. I have gone into the Computer control settings and change the paper size A4 and I still continue to get the “user intervention required“ comment when I try to print. My computer is a PC that I purchased in the United States but I have not had any problems using printers on it before.
I have hooked it up directly from my computer to the printer with the cable thinking this might help but it doesn’t seem to make any difference.
Any ideas?
Help is difficult to get here in France!!
