Hi, I hooked up my brand new MF 655cdw color laser printer today. I’m trying to run the firmware update but I keep getting the same error. Has anybody encountered this? Is there a fix? Thanks!

Greetings,
How is your printer connected and to what?
The easiest way to upgrade firmware is to have the printer connected to your network via wired or wireless connection.
If this is the connection method, the issue might be temporary. It can also be related to your ISP or DNS settings.
If you re connecting via USB, the firmware update tool below is available:

Thanks so much! I ended up connecting the printer by ethernet directly to the router and then I used my Mac and the firmware update tool that was linked to. Interestingly, my Mac connected to the router via WiFi but the printer needed to be connected by ethernet to the router. A bit of head scratching and trial and error but all good in the end. Thanks!
