Hello, I have a Pixma ip110, I just put a new black ink cartridge and I am getting this error “

Support Code: 1660 The following ink tank cannot be recognized. "Color" Printing cannot be executed because the ink tank may not be installed properly or may not be compatible with this printer. Install the appropriate ink tank.”

Do I need to install the color ink as well? I just need bw, not color. Is that the reason I am not able to print at all?

Yes, you have to have both ink cartridges installed in order to print, even if you only want to print black and white.
