New format

IMHO, the old format was easier to navigate. Everything was on one screen. Now it seems I have to take extra steps to find different boards/subjects, etc. Sorry but I'm not impressed.

While I admit it takes a bit of getting used to, have you tried going into PREFERENCES - MY SETTINGS - PREFERENCE OPTIONS?   There you can make fairly significant changes to the layout.  I must admit I like the option to be able to see posts with the most recent first, for example.  I realize that one can then skip a whole conversation, but I personally am aware of that and try to go from the start if I am not familiar with the thread.

What would be nice is to be able to filter out those topics that I choose not to see: I would not need to see anything about video or printer issues and Q&A, for example and that would cut out a lot of clutter.

I just logged in after quite a few months away to find a new board and interface. l have not navigated around enough to form a solid opinion yet. But a few thoughts -- new interfaces always take some time to get familiar with and there are always issues to work out in the early weeks and months. So patience may be required for a bit. That said, I was never a fan of the 1990s-style board we had before and wished it could be a little more like N*kon's. So I am glad Canon is taking a giant leap into the 21st century, boardwise. I expect some clunky navigation here and there and various issues to throw us now and then. But I am generally pleased that a refresh is in place. YMMV.

HOW CAN I TURN OFF in my home page, the huge list of posts in which I have no interest ???

I see a huge list of posts about video issues and I didn't have to deal with them before.  I have been through every section of My Settings and can't see a way to filter the categories of topics so I just see those things in which I have involvement.  I keep seeing references to subscriptions and notifications.  I am not subscribed to anything to do with video, but I can't seem to find a way of applying that.

This is SO frustrating:

I used to come to the site and see the material with which I want to engage: specifically stills photography.  Now my start-up page is full of questions about printing and videography.

PLEASE can we have a mechanism to filter what groups of posts we choose to see or not see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
