Negative scan

I am totally frustrated by the 2178  error i get in trying to scan color negatives with my 5600f scanner Win 10 64bit

I do get a scan using PDF but not what should be a normal scan accoding to the manual. Have tried various advanced settings.

You might want to look into VueScan. It has a lot of great options for scanning color negatives, such as film base type - to remove the orange mask .
