This is probably weird and *trigger warning for fetal death*
Ultimately, this post is a request for a photo printer donation. I would love the PIXMA TS8820 Wireless Photo Multi-Function Printer, my hospital has a SELPHY but it is insufficient for our needs.
I’m a labor nurse, in a high-acuity birth center (in a hospital) with a passion in caring for patients concerning fetal and neonatal death. I have a deep connection to this and strive to give my patients every memory and memento I can.
The hospital I work at does not allocate money to this area of care (we are trying to change that) and runs solely off donations. Primarily from organizations, families - to/in honor of their little one(s), and myself. I have been told we will be getting a new camera/printer for a few years now - to no avail. I have taken this high up and continue to - still, to no avail.
Currently, we have a regular digital canon that we hook to the SELPHY to print photos. Unfortunately, the SELPHY does not connect to any Bluetooth or mobile devices and we do not have a computer that is able to even upload photos *this is due to security, encryption, and whatever else. A majority of the time the babies have passed well before delivery; I have seen weeks to hours. These babies don’t often photograph well and not having the ability to edit photos is asinine. The hope is that we are able to use canons editing app on a dedicated device (already acquired through donation) that we can then print from.
This is so long but it means so much and If you got this far, thank you! If you know a way to contact Canon or if anyone is wanting to help, that would be absolutely amazing.
