Hello all,
My name is Alicce (or Al for short) and I am a newbie to this forum. I have worked as a freelance photographer for many years now and have even spent some time as a travel photographer. My work took me all over the world, but as I have got a little bit older, photography has become more of a passion project.
I've joined this forum becasue I would like to be amongst like-minded photography enthusiasts and hopefully find my way back to my passion. I think I am most successful at landscape and wilderness photography and like to use a good quality camera to take them - I know that smartphone cameras are getting better, but if you want to get the perfect shot, then I think that we should always always use cameras.
Always feel free to get in touch and we can share our favourite photography stories!
Excited to hear from you all and to get stuck in with the community!
Alice

Al,
I worked for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City in the Graphic Arts Division for 40 years before retirement. I had my own photography business for longer than that and have retired in name only it seems. I am trying to turn photography into a hobby.
"I think that we should always always use cameras..."
This seems a odd statement or sentiment for a person that is "passionate" about photography. Especially for a person that says, "I have worked as a freelance photographer for many years..."
It is nice to have you on the forum. I am glad you decided to join. Hope you are too! So, what's up? Doing any projects?

You didn't read her sentiment in context, Ernie. She meant "instead of getting lazy and using a cell phone camera as a crutch".

"...instead of getting lazy..."
Not that it matters but I don't get it that way at all. BTW, who were you "quoting" anyway?

I'll let Alice speak for herself, obviously, if she feels like doing so. But in the meantime I stand by my interpretation of what she said.
BTW, it's perfectly acceptable to use quote marks to bracket a hypothetical statement or thought. You'd know that if you'd had Cecilia Aarons for 11th-grade English.

And the key word here is "hypothetical".
BTW, I never had 11th grade English. Matter of fact I barely have the ability to communicate with people at all.
I was enrolled in as many music classes as was possible.
