Hello,

I am having trouble editing my R6 videos and I am wondering if you could suggest any suitable software for video editing?

Thanks!

If you are having trouble editing your R6 videos, it may help to use a more capable editor than basic or bundled software. Many free and open-source video editors support modern codecs, high-resolution footage, multiple tracks, and basic color and audio tools, which makes working with DSLR or mirrorless camera files much easier.

I saw that movavi has a lot of options and similar tools available, and checking simple comparison guides can help you see what features each one offers and which type of editor fits your workflow best.

For editing Canon R6 videos, DaVinci Resolve is an excellent choice, especially if you're looking for a powerful free option. Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro (Mac) are also great for more advanced workflows. If you're just getting started, CapCut is surprisingly capable and easy to use. For basic edits on Windows 11, I’d start with DaVinci Resolve if your computer has enough RAM and a decent GPU. It’s more than you need at first, but you can grow into it, and the cut page is fairly simple. For quick trims and social clips, CapCut is less intimidating. I’d avoid jumping into Premiere unless you already need its wider workflow.
