Upgrade from Canon 70D?

I'm still new to photography (just over a year), but I am wondering if I should upgrade from a Canon 70D in the semi near future. I'm a young photographer who doesn't have the best source of personal income, so I want an upgrade that is on the cheaper end and also has an EF lens mount like the 70D (or another brand of camera that has the ability for me to use an adapter).  Thank you for any advice!

Something to think about as you start planning for the future...

You said you are older. One of the considerations of older people like you and I is the weight of the camera. The weight of the 70D is 755 grams. I know I find it harder to hold up that kind of weight up in front of my eyes for any length of time.

Any upgrade I might make in the future has to be kept light.
