Should I go with canon rf85 f2 stm or sigma rf-s 56 f1.4

Help! I’m really struggling to decide between this two and I want some advice from someone who might own these lenses.

I currently am using a canon eos r7 with rf 28-70 f2.8 stm (not the L version) and an ef50 f1.8. (I have a very tight budget so L lenses are out of question). I also have a samyang 85 1.4 manual lens which I love but it’s kinda hard to use in real life.

I’m looking for a great portrait lens that have good background blur, snappy auto focus. I think im ok with shooting at almost 135 ff equivalent, and I mostly do portrait and sometimes full body. Which one of these two lenses will give me better blurs? Or best suits my needs? Picture comparison will be very helpful!!

Thank you guys so much.

For your Canon R7 and portrait needs with good blur and snappy autofocus on a tight budget, the Canon RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM is the superior choice. Its wider f/2 aperture will generally yield slightly more background blur than the RF 100mm f/2.8L, even with the latter's Spherical Aberration (SA) control. While the 100mm L has faster and smoother autofocus due to its USM motor, the 85mm's STM is still quite capable and snappy enough for most portrait scenarios, and its significantly lower price point makes it the clear winner for your budget, while also offering useful macro capabilities and image stabilization.

The Sigma 85mm F/1.4 is not yet available for the RF Mount. That lens is still in development for the RF Mount. Now the RF 85mm F/2 Macro IS STM lens is not a true macro lens. It only focuses down to 1:2 instead of 1:1 like a true macro lens. Though it can still be used for Macro work. The RF 50mm F/1.8 STM may be a better choice. Any longer than that on a crop body is especially difficult to use. So I’d recommend renting that lens first. I’ve found 85mm to be too long a crop body for portraits. But 50mm to be a great focal length. 85mm on a crop body would be for headshots not portraits especially full body portraits on a crop body.
