As the title suggests. Im looking for a BCam to support my R6ii. Im very tempted to get another R6ii because it does absolutely everything it needs to do and has a fantastic list of features.
For clarity, Im more of a hybrid shooter with a focus on sports.
Curious as to whether there are any bodys I may of missed or overlooked that are very capable. Things I’ve ruled out;
R5 - CF Card slot doesn’t appeal to me. Crazy IKIK
EOS R - No 4K/60
R5ii - Too expensive
R6 - Good option but seems silly to downgrade.
C50 - As much as Id love it, Im not sure Im at that stage yet.

Greetings,
Consider the R6 mkIII or R5 C. You're R6 mkII can then become the B cam. There is nothing wrong with CF Express B. Their cost per GB is lower than SD v90 cards too.
The R5 C is about as hybrid as they come. 😅. Perfect for sports video and great for stills too. You can also buy one refurb for a great price. Lots of choices are available.

It's a tough decision, It would be really nice to have two cameras exactly the same, great for the muscle memory, lol. But then having a different one would be nice too, you can't lose at this you know. I guess if I was to add a body and wanted a different one, I would want somewhat of an upgrade, possibly the R6iii. I know some of the models can be a little different in the buttons etc, so you might want to look at hat since you could be changing camers on he fly. I really doubt that would be a problem with two R series cameras, but everyone is different.

A very low-cost option for b-roll might include be the R50V. It also makes a great travel-lite camera, but is better suited to video. Mine is great fun.
