Rebel T6 upgrade

I currently own T6 and would like better performance. Specifically for cheerleading/football. I do my daughter’s competitions and while I can get away with some good photos (using 70-200 f4 and 85 f1.8) I miss more than I get. I’m looking around the $4-500 range at max. I’m aware the future is mirrorless and blah blah but it’s not realistic at this point. Any advice and recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

What do you mean by "better performance"? Why are you missing photos?

First you need to define what your needs are, and how your current camera does not fulfill them. Just buying a new camera without thinking about this is foolish and wasteful.

If your current lenses do not give you the field of view you want, change lenses. Something wider than 70mm may be what you want to not miss things.

Besides, $4-500 isn't going to get you anywhere for a new camera. Used is more like it. Same story with lenses.

hey what’s. i would recommend a Canon 7D , about $150-200 used. it has 18mp resolution, apsc sensor, and a frame rate of 8fps in continuous shooting. i think it’s a good match with your telephoto lens.
