R8 VS R10 - LOW LIGHT - BEACH - NATURE SHOTS

Torn between the R8 and R10 for mostly beach shots... such as sunrises/sunsets..  shots of waves.. pier. and nature type shots..  also travel type street photography.

I had the R10 and but since didnt use it much sold it.. Loved it for travel..  since it was light.. had a 18-150 lens.. 

Eyeing the R8 since seems better in low light..

I know the R8 doesnt have a flash.  From my understanding the R8 isnt that much bigger than the R10.. .

What is the best lightweight flash for the R8?  and wide angle lens..  thats also affordable .. under $800.

Are full frame lens more expensive than aps?  Thanks

The R8 will be able to outperform the R10 in low light shooting situations.

The Canon EL5 (around $350) Is compatible with the R8.  Other flash options are available if you use the AE-D1.  These are for flashes that don't support the multifunction shoe.  You can consider used or refurbished as well to save a little money.  

There's no one best, lens, but here are some nice ones in or near your price range.  You can use the filter options to exclude higher price lenses.

Full frame lenses do cost more than lenses intended for APS-C bodys.  This is because they are designed for cameras with larger image sensors.  

Lenses that have a faster constant aperture will also be more expensive than variable aperture lenses.  Canon also seels refurbished products that come with the same 1 yr warranty as new.  This includes cameras, flashes lenses and accessories.  I've purchased a few refurbished lenses and accessories and all have been perfect.  I wouldn't hesitate to buy a refurbished camera from Canon either.  You can also look at the used departments at B&H, Adorama, MPB and KEH.  This can allow you to stretch your dollar.💲 You can use the link below and sort by category.

The EOS R8 doesn’t need the AD-E1 hot shoe adapter to use older flashes. It is only needed for weather sealed speedlites. Older flashes mount directly and the legacy pins are still there for backward compatibility. Only the EOS R50 & EOS R50V lack the legacy pins. But every other multi function hot shoe supports both flash types. Except the EOS R5C. That camera can only use older 5 pin EX & EL series speedlites. Despite have a hot shoe that looks the same but electrically incompatible.

I agree but the advantage will be slight perhaps not even enough to be seen in most cases. Personally, I would avoid flashes like the plague. Unless you have a specific need or an effect you are trying to create flash is mostly not needed. Flash brings along a whole lot of problems for the added light they bring.
