I have saved enough to get the Canon EOS R50, now what ?

I am a beginner photographer and I have saved enough money to get the Canon EOS R50. I'm just undecided if I should purchase refurbished which is around $600ish or purchase it brand new around $800ish ? I am also wanting to get a lenses as well. what is the first lens you would recommend I purchase? I am interested in photographing nature, people (portraits and fashion), and pets.

Refurbished from Canon is OK.

Just start with the Kit lens - 18-45

If you buy from Canon's website the Refurbished R50 with the kit lens is going for $479 right now. $429 without the lens. Not a bad way to start out. If you want to spend a few dollars more the R10 with the kit lens is a fantastic deal now at $599. They are running some deals. Check it out if you can order directly from them.

A1, T90, EOS 1N, Elan 7e, R6M2. Lenses....many FD/EF/RF Lenses/Speedlites. All fun!

Note: As MrWalleye says, get refurbished from the Canon website. Do NOT trust "refurbished" cameras from anywhere else!
