EF 24-70 f2.8 II v RF 24-105 f4

Hi all,

Has anybody switched from the EF 24-70 f2.8ii to the RF 24-105 f4?

I have the EF lens but I’m thinking about swapping to the RF on my R5 due to it being lighter and smaller (especially given I need to use the EF to RF adapter) and the extra reach.

I will be using this lens almost entirely for landscapes. I hike with the camera so the smaller overall package is appealing.

I’ve found one reviewi comparing the lenses (which suggested the EF was the better lens) but wanted to see if anyone has experience swapping?

Greetings,

The claims about the lens being better is in regards to its corner to center sharpness.  Many consider the 24-70 focal length to be a little better.  Besides the size, weight difference and additional reach, you will also get IS.

Since you use the lens primarily for landscapes, moving from f2.8 to f4 will not be to impactful.  The RF24-105 f4 is a great walk around lens on the R5.
