@edrichard,

Thanks for providing this feedback. 💲 With your budget you would be able to choose any of the cameras that you identified above.  Use the suggestions from my colleagues based on the type of photography you're most interested in to level down your choices.  Sports / wildlife, landscapes / architecture, portraits, etc. You won't be limited based on the camera you choose, but each may have capabilities better suited for particular photography scenarios.  The good news is that all of the cameras you're considering have fully automatic and manual capabilities.  The fully automatic modes will get you going (enjoying your camera) right out of the box.  As you spend more time taking pictures you will be able to step outside of this comfort zone to start learning about exposure and more advanced photography techniques.

Visiting a Best Buy or camera store to hold different cameras is definitely a good idea.  No need to buy sight unseen and it's definitely a good idea to hold something in your hands before committing.

Please see the following article from Canon Europe in regards to aps-c versus full frame. It's a short read.

Once you've identified the type of photography you intend to do or enjoy most, choosing a platform (APS-C vs full frame) is the next decision.  Finally, your budget will come into play.

Again you are not going to be trapped with something too basic or too complex.  After reading the article above come back and tell us what you think.  🤔

Last thing I want to add. Canon is a Japanese company and March is the end of their fiscal year. This is a great time to buy a camera.
