Did you mean:

who else is sick and tired of this EOS Utility 3 app?

Constant turning camera on and off, constant exiting the app and restarting it. And eventually just restarting the computer to get it to work because as the screenshot says, exiting all apps and restarting the app and camera just doesn't work.

Running mac os 15.3. It's not like the version matters, this has been an ongoing issue with canon eos utility for every version of mac os I had.

And lately recording videos on the remote live shoot function has been acting up. After finishing up recording 10 different product videos and closing the live view, it asks me to download the videos, and all it has on the camera is the last video I took. The first 9 videos are non existent, as if they were never recorded.

Hello!

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with your camera. To help the community assist you better, we need a bit more information:

- What is the exact model of your camera?
- Have you reinstalled the EOS Utility from https://canon.us/eu?
- Have you tried a different USB C or Thunderbolt cable? You want to ensure it's a cable that can be used for data and charging, not just charging. Many USB C cables can do both. All Thunderbolt cables do both.

Any additional details you provide will help the community better understand your issue.

Thanks for your response.

I'm using Canon R5 Mark II

It is a thunderbolt connection. The cable works. It's just sometimes I have to restart the computer to get it to work.

No I haven't reinstalled EOS utility. It's not a constant problem. It just happens from time to time. After a clean restart of the computer the camera will connect. But so many times it just gets stuck with the couldn't communicate message. Sometimes I get lucky and a quick turning on or off fixes it. But sometimes it is so stubborn that you just have to restart the computer to get it to connect. I just wish it worked fine all the time and didn't give me that communication error message which gets resolved everytime if I restart the computer.
