timelapse video with EOS R6 Mark II

I would like to make timelapse video, equivalent with Fv mode for pictures. This means I could fix two parameters, eg. shutter time and aperture while the only automatically adjustable parameter would be e.g. ISO. Apparently, Sony has such option, but it is not working for me with my canon..  Thanks,

In M mode, you can set a fixed Tv and Av, and ISO to Auto.  Fv mode can set up this way, too.

???  You would set it up for video mode the same as you would for stills.  All you have to do is flip a switch to change from stills to video mode and back again.  The exposure settings do not change.

I know that video and will study it again. But in my setup what you recommended DOES NOT work. Setup from stills does not goes to video timelapse. It does only for one option, eg. aperture for Av, time for Tv, but for Fv both time and ISO may change. For M mode, yes all three setting from stills can be used for video timelapse. You still did not answer my question how can I use "TWO" stills settings in video mode.  Thanks for trying though

My mistake.  I am misunderstanding your question.  It almost sounds lke you are asking to different questions at the same time.  Moving forward, this is how time-lapse video works.  Personally, I would forget about Fv mode, although it can be configured to work like P, Av, Tv, or M mode.  Keep it simple.  Use M mode.

Setting up time-lapse video  mode and general video mode are similar, but not not quite identical.  Setting up the interval is the added wrinkle.

The interval time setting does not define the time between shots.  The interval time defines the overall time interval between firing the shutter.  This means interval time must always be longer than total exposure time.

Please note,total exposure time is not one and the same as shutter speed.  Exposure time includes shutter speed plus time to write to the memory card.  Depending upon your other camera settings, total exposure time can be equal to or exceed more than twice your shutter shutter speed.

[EDIT]. Here are alternate R6 video tutorials.  Sometimes a different explanation can help clarify things.  Experience is the best teacher.  Use the camera.  Have fun.  Make mistakes and learn from them.  The more mistakes you make, then the more you learn.

Thank you for new references. I will study these soon. I did several successful time-lapse movies with canon r6 m2 using M and Av mode.  However, for my next applications (auroras) I wish I would have something which apparently Sony A7S III camera has at it is ability to keep TWO exposure setting, (not ONE like Av or Tv allow) and not THREE (Manual mode).  You are right that it should be easy and expected to set up such options in a still mode and then move to video mode with exposure options kept the same. Again, this is happening for Av, Tv and M modes but the still shot capabilities of Fv mode are NOT carried out to the video mode. Unless I find a solution, I consider this to be a BUG or DEFICIENCY of my CANON and some advantage of Sony ...
