If so, exactly which CF card are you using and what is it's capacity?
I ask, because back when that camera was new, a high capacity card might be 128MB. Doing a bit of digging, I found some information that suggests the maximum capacity card that it can handle is only 8GB.
Make sure your card isn't a higher capacity than the camera can handle.

Besides what size, what brand did you "put in"? It never pays to buy cheap CF cards. High capacity CF cards are a bad idea all the way around.
