canon rebel t5 won't shoot anything

canon rebel t5, new, fully charged battery, sd card 32g, 300 photos on it, suddenly won't shoot! Can't figure out why? Anybody know? thank you so much.

Does the focus confirmation beep?

Thank u for your time. this is our daughter's new camera. We have a t6. we were trying to help her over the phone--long distance. she said it did not do anything w the 55mm lens, no message, nothing. So, assume no beep. She called later & said it is working now w the telephoto lens. we are guessing it is the lens. again, thank u much.

Whenever something like this happens the first thing to do is reset the camera back to factory defaults.  Most of the time it is a user error because something is accidentally changed in the menu.

In the long run you may help your daughter more by telling her how to join this forum than by trying to relay messages back and forth.
