While in video the canon 80d changes to photo

Sometimes when i'm filming with my canon 80d, the shutter flicks and it changes to photo mode. Sometimes i will push the dail of the 80d to photo and it will still be in video. Please any idea why this is happening???

I suggest that you contact Canon Support to see if your camera needs a repair.

However, I do want to point out that the top dial should not have anything to do with switching between photo and video modes.  This should be controlled by the Live View button and switch control, not the top dial.
