What a difference..: Monitor recommendation for photo editing

Hi everyone,

So, after researching which monitor would be the best suited for Photography, ASUS ProArt Displays stood out.  I was looking for a portable monitor that I could easily take with me and felt that the ASUS ProArt PA248QV monitor was perfect for my needs.  Also, in various reports I found it to be great choice for photo editing and processing as It features a 24.1" Monitor, 100% sRGB /100% Rec.709, IPS, Calman Verified, Anti-glare, Tilt Pivot Swivel Height Adjustable, Black Monitor.  Precise color accuracy right out of the box.  So, I order one and received it yesterday.  What a difference!  I've been editing my Raw pictures on my 13" Surface Pro 11 Laptop, and when I plugged in the ASUS ProArt monitor, Bang, the picture was crisper and more visually vibrant. This screen is factory calibrated, Calman Verified for top-notch color accuracy, hitting 100% sRGB/100% Rec. 709, with a 16:10 aspect ratio which feels much different from my Surface Pro 3:2 aspect ratio. It provides more vertical space, which is handy for photo and video editing.  When plugged in to my Surface Pro the picture on the ASUS ProArt is brighter than the one on the Surface Pro screen.  The pictures on my Surface Pro screen show much darker, so, when editing my pictures I was making them more brighter than I should have.  I noticed this when viewing the pictures I posted on the Canon and other websites.   Soon I'll be posting beautiful high-resolution, color-accurate pictures, edited with my new ASUS ProStar monitor, I hope!?!  😆   At least with the bigger monitor, I'll be able to read the minute number settings on PS, LR and LRC.  For those looking to improve their photography I recommend looking at the ASUS ProArt Display series as ASUS specifically designed them with Photo editing and graphic arts in mind.  Now that I know this, the next monitor I'll get will be the ASUS ProArt 27" 4K Professional Monitor.  Afterall, what good is a great photo if one can't process it accordingly to one's artistic view.  Having said that, I welcome critique on the new pictures that I post. 😎

Cheers,
Joe
