EOS Rebel T5i and lenses salvageable after flood damage?

Hello..I am nwe here ..I am a Coast Guard Vet and live in Hudson Florida. We recently lost everything in Hurricane Helene. My camera bag was up on a fridge which ended up floating and tipping over so of course my camera and all lenses went scuba diving in salt water. 8 year old Camera is a RebelTi5 and I had 4 lenses various sizes. My question is there a place this can be rebuilt and if so is it cheaper to buy a used one or refurbished one? What about the lenses? Are they salvageable? I am a hobby photographer and on a tight budget as we are slowly putting our house and lives back together. Thanks in advance for any information.

In your other post I suggested a used T5i body for about $300. Now that lenses are involved the situation is different. You might want to look into one of Canon's mirrorless vlogging kits. If that is outside your budget Keh Canera also has used lenses.

As a CG vet, what is available through the PX? I have visited one at a VA hospital.

Greetings Guystapo,

Your camera gear is a loss.  Claim it as property loss under your home owner's policy.  If you are renting, hopefully you have renters insurance.  Any gear that was submerged (partially or fully) or found floating in water (salt or fresh) is a loss.  We're sorry it happened and wish you and your family quick recovery.  Unfortunately, Its time to shop for new or used gear.
