Hello,
I recently purchased an M10 thats in excellent condition however it is missing the thumb rest. I’ve tried looking everywhere to see where I can purchase a replacement but it but I haven’t been able to find it.
I came across a thread on Reddit that said I could contact Canon to see if they have it available. However to do so, I need to register my product and I can’t seem to get the option for the M10. Is there a way to finish that registration? Or can someone tell me if Canon would be able to help at all? I’ve never tried registering a product or trying to replace something since I have a T7 bought brand new which obviously hasn’t needed any help.
I appreciate any insight! 🙂

Greetings ,
The M10 is about 10 years old now. Canon probably doesn't service it any longer and parts availability might be challenging.
You can reach the Canon parts department at the number below, maybe you'll get lucky and they'll have some old stock.
Canon Parts Order Desk at (866) 481-2569
Weekdays from 9 AM - 7 PM, ET.
My best advice is this. Don't buy a broken camera or one that is missing parts (buttons, dials, thumb grips, etc. It's not usually a good way to start out. The M series has been discontinued now for a couple of years so anything you buy for it is going to be limited selection and second hand. Lenses, accessories, etc, if you can find them.
It's good that you are considering a mirrorless option as mirrorless has eclipsed DSLR performance. However, you may want to stick with something a little newer that hasn't been discontinued. I hope you'll be able to find the part that you need to make your M10 "whole" again.

Hi Rick!
Thanks for the information. I did a lot of research before purchasing this one and since it was my introduction to mirrorless cameras, I didn't mind purchasing an older one. Newer ones are very expensive and while I learn how to use them, I definitely prefer going for a cheaper model.
Thankfully, this one is in excellent condition and the only thing missing is that thumb rest. It isn't a big deal, but I would certainly love to have it look even better than it does. I'll definitely reach out to them and see if they might have something.
Thanks!

Check out the used equipment dealers and ebay for "parts only" cameras that are typically bought to be parts donors. UsedPhotoPro.com, KEH.com, MPB.com are three of the good ones.

What we’re trying to tell you is that the system you bought into is a dead end. Everything for the EOS M system has been discontinued with no future support. The current Mirrorless lineup is the EOS R series.
