We've developed an application which automatically takes a photo from our exhibit visitors. We are using the latest SDK with Eos Rebel 3 on Windows 8. Client is written in Java.
Everything works quite well but we have one big issue:
The camera sometimes simply shuts down. Sometimes it happens after half an hour, sometimes after 3 hours. Sometimes when photos have been made, sometimes when the camera is not in use.
We are already sending a "stay online" command every five minutes and we also react when the camera sends the notification for standby mode 30seconds before it goes to standby mode.
The camera runs in auto-mode with auto-focus and is connected via USB. Permanent power supply. Same issue when auto-power off is set to "never".
My developers have no more ideas what they can do to avoid that behaviour.
I would really be glad if someone of you give us a hint or an idea what else we can do.
