I've recently started toying with the white balance settings on my trusty Rebel XTi. I found that when I upload the photos to Windows 11 and look at the properties in Windows Explorer, it always says "manual" for white balance setting. When I upload to macOS and look at the info in Photos, it always says "auto white balance". If I check the images on the camera itself, it does show the actual white balance setting that I used.
Is there a problem with my camera?

No problem with your camera.
Download exiftool and drag a photo file to its icon. It will give you a lot of information on your photo. It shows white balance: auto for one of my photos, I usually use auto though. It is worth trying and see if it shows what you have set for manual white balance.

Extract the exiftool(-k).exe file from the archive to your desktop and drag a photo to the icon. (assuming Windows)

Thanks for the reply. What's DPP? I googled it, but none of the results were photography-related.

It is Canon's free photo editing software. Go to this site and choose the Digital Photo Professional 4.18.0 and choose Windows or Mac version to download. You will have to provide your camera's serial number before you can download the program file.
