Rebel T7 Live View defaults to 5X when zooming in

When I'm in Live View and press the Magnify button, it immediately zooms in to 5x, then 10x. I'd like to zoom in more slowly than that. It works fine when reviewing using the Playback button. 

Suggestions?

Have you checked the User Manual to see if that’s an option?

Not yet. I was watching a tutorial where it was being used that way AND I thought I had done that previously myself.

Yeah, thanks. Apparently, magnifying operates differently in various situations (live view vs image review).
