Rebel T3i Camera Shuts off automatically

Rebel T3i Camera Shuts off automatically during movie recording.  It does this with all of my memory cards.  I just received a brand new SanDisk Class 10 256MB SDXC UHS-I card & tried it several times with the same result.  It shuts off after 11-12 minutes.  I also made sure that the Power Saving setting was turned off.

It shut off at 11:55.  No over-heating symbol either.  This is with the lower resolution.

What is the file size of the image when it shuts off - that is the critical metric in this context.

According to the camera's manual the 11:55 minute cutoff is to be expected, and is normal at those 2 resolutions.

Sorry for the delay.  The file size is 3.98GB.

Yep, essentially 4GB, just like the manual suggests.  It's how the camera works.  Did you check the specs and read the manual before you bought the camera?  That is something I strongly recommend to save you from unfortunate surprises.

You guys are right.  All the files were the same 3.98GB in size.

I'm borrowing the camera from my god-mother & have been using it for some time.  No manual was with the camera.  Appreciate all the help.

I understand.  Even if there is no physical manual available, I would encourage you to download a PDF copy from the Canon support site for any camera  you are going to use, especially if you will consider buying it (I am not assuming that in this case).

See page 151.

Yes.  I already downloaded it to identify what the over-heating symbol looks like, from earlier in this discussion.  Thanks for the suggestion & all your help.
