EOS R7 shuts off with Sigma lens and won't restart without battery pull

my R7 switches off when i dont use my Sigma 150-600MM for more than a couple of minutes and wont start again unless i remove the battery and re-install it, any ideas why this is??? please

Does it happen without the extender? It probably does not buy you much anyway.

yes its the same, after updating firmware on both the camera and the lens the only difference is that it does stay on BUT if i turn the camera off it wont work unless i remove the battery and put it back.

yes to converter and no other lenses are fine

Not so fast there cowboy. Before you condemn the lens try it on a DSLR. This will tell you if the lens works or not. If you don't have access to a DSLR perhaps there is a local camera store. A local community college with a Photography department. A local Camera club. A friend.

IMHO, I would avoid using the tel-con. If you must use the Sigma tel-con. You are adding a lot of electrical contacts that all must work properly.
