Cannot get screen to display live view. It's like it just died? I have tried various combinations on Shooting Info Disp. This just suddenly started. When I first turn on the camera, sometimes it will very briefly flash an image on the LCD screen that does not stay. I'm using RF100mm in manual focus and have been doing some flash photography and waterdrop photography. Also the "Q" is grayed out all of a sudden. I've reset basic settings, pulled the battery and installed replacement and nothing is there. I tried all of the modes on the mode dial and nothing is there. I changed lens to the 24-240 RF and still nothing. I am on version 1.8.2. Please advise if I need to check anything else on the camera or if a firmware update might help.

Does the LCD Screen turn on at all. Are you using 3rd Party items ie flash. What happens if you remove the memory card and lens. Does the LCD screen work.

Hello and thank you for the reply - Yes, the LCD screen works fine, as I'm able to go through all of the menus. No 3rd Party items, using the Canon RF100mm lens and Canon Speedlite 470EX-A1 flash. I just lost the live view which is what I use for manual macro. Why is the "Q" option grayed out? Pretty sure it isn't normally. I can hold it 10-seconds and the screen changes as per the op manual.

Hi again - I forgot to mention that live view simply isn't working with (or without flash).

Are you pressing the start stop button to activate live view. Does the lens AF like it’s supposed to unless MF is being used.

Is the lock switch on by any chance.

Hello, Demetrius!
Live View on the R6 is always active, so there is no start/stop button to switch into live viewing using the rear LCD 🙂 To view using the rear screen, or what we normally refer to as "Live View", you have to toggle through the various screens using the "INFO" button. There are several screens, like LV, INFO, a Level, etc., that you can configure to be available when toggling with the INFO button. LV is always the first but has various degrees of information included. Eventually you will come to a Live View version that has nothing but a focus point, but once again, it just depends on how you have your display set up. IIRC, one of those screens is blank, so that ma be the OP's problem. I have to check later when I have the R6 in hand 🤔

I also commented on another post and the other user had a 6D Mark II. I crossed the posts and put the wrong reply here instead of the other forum.

Hi- Yes, I confirmed that the AF works. I put the 24-240 lens on, tried the AF and it was fine, showing the Live View. I then flipped it to MF and the Live View was still functional. I then switched back to the Macro 100mm lens, and duplicated the same results ... first in AF, and then MF, so Live View is back in action. Must have lost it's marbles. Will try some actual photography tomorrow to see if this continues. Thank you for your time.

no lock switch on, and also no start/stop button for toggling between live view on the flip screen and viewfinder options
