I have an EOS R50 with the 18-45mm kit lens. The lens will autofocus without me pressing the shutter button. That is, if the camera is switched on the lens always tries to autofocus. I also have a number of EF lenses and the Canon converter to fit them on the R50. I see the same effect with these: the lenses are always trying to find a focus when the camera is on without pressing the shutter button. Is this a fault with the camera or is there a setting to stop this happening?
Many thanks for your help.

That’s it! I have just disabled PreviewAF and no more auto focusing.
Fantastic, thanks so much.

You can Disable "Continuous AF"/ "Preview AF". But I believe this CANNOT be done in A+ (Full Auto Mode)
