R3 Register/recall shooting function not available

The Register/recall shooting func* graphic is not available in the custom button selections. Was not there with original firmware 1.0.1 upgraded to firmware 1.4.1 still not available to select?

How do I get access to this function?

Are you in an auto shooting mode? It might only be available in P M Av Tv shooting modes.

Bob, I have tried all modes except Auto. This graphic in not in the button menus.

You may have to select another button to assign Register/Recall shooting function to. Not all buttons can be assigned to just any function. See this chart from the manual. It tells you which buttons you can use:
