I just received a Canon Rebel t5 for Christmas and when I went to install the software onto my old Macbook pro 10.6.8 it says the software is not compatible with my computer. Is there an older software that will work?? I was also wondering if it is possible to transfer the photos I take onto my iPad?
Thanks!

You can transfer photos directly from the camera to the iPad using Apple's camera adapters. There are two... one is USB and the other is an SD card slot. The only requirement is that the photos are JPEG because the iPad wont understand how to deal with RAW files.
As for computer software, 10.6 is a fairly old version of Mac OS X (10.10 is the most current). Canon has full versions of the downloadable software going back to 10.7.
