Hello,
I have some issues with my Canon R6 Mark II I just purchased and I wanted some advice on what to do.
Key issues:
My usage/requirements are:
I’m not sure if I should keep the R6 MII or downgrade to a more recent R8, which is cheaper and for my usage I might not see the difference?
I was also wondering if you had similar issues with R6 MII or R8 and if you manager to work around them?
I would appreciate your advice.

Key issues:
- Lightroom tethering doesn’t work
- EOS Utility doesn’t recognise the camera
- EF2R lens adapter requires taking on and off each I want to switch lenses, because it loses AF
- Rattle noise inside the camera is unsettling (IBIS)
My usage/requirements are:
- Product photography with a macro lens
- Tethering to Mac (Sonoma)
- Using it as a WebCam on Zoom calls
- Travel photography occasionally as a hobby
- All my lenses are EF

I do not use Apple computers. I do not like their predatory business practices.
Your Key Issues
Downgrading your camera will probably not fix EOS Utility issues. There has been a long history of Canon apps not working after Apple upgrades or updates the Operating Systems. So changing cameras will probably not solve anything. It is my shallow understanding of the most recent issues associated with Sonoma is that Apple has added a feature that disables your USB ports.

You say that all your lenses are EF. Does that mean all of them are Canon lenses? Some third party lenses are not able fully compatible with the advanced tracking features.
If you are primarily shooting macro photography, then incompatibility with third party lenses should not be an issue. The advanced tracking features should be disabled.
