Need EOS Rebel T6 to Stay On Constantly - Shuts off after about 45m or so

Hi all,

A pretty unique situation here. I'm trying to use my Canon T6 Rebel as a live streaming camera and overall I've got everything set up great, however the camera shuts off or live view shuts off after around 45m to an hour.

I have in the settings the "Auto Shut Off" set to Never. The current set up is using the USB, I use the EOS Utility application to activate Live View mode but as the subject states, it seems either this or the camera itself shuts off automatically still after some time. Any way to keep the camera on? Am I missing a settings somewhere?

For all those who trolled you in 2018, I'm sorry. Just know that now they all want to do the exact same thing.

Fortunately, Canon launched a beta software just last month software to do just that.

Search YouTube for EOS Webcam Utility Beta. 

Should work with your T6. Make sure you keep your "EOS Utilities" from running.

This is happening to me as well, but I'm not sure why. If I turn it off and back on again, it turns on. If it was overheating I would think that it would shut back off immediately. The LCD is not in use when you have an HDMI plugged in either, so that can't be it. I'm thinking it's just some kind of a 'time out' thing because you haven't done anything on the camera.

This is the most recent update you'll find on the internet. 
I have done all the digging and couldn't find a fix, BUT I figured out how to make it work. 
I'm sure you know by now that DSLR cameras have a 30 minute automatic shut off. Some say because of regulation, others say for heating. 
For my set up I am running my old Cannon Rebel T2i that I had laying around. I have Magic Lantern installed and use it to remove the annoying focus square and other overlays, but thats it. The Magic Lantern fix didn't work for me. 
What did work was using the Cannon EOS Webcam Utility app. Now Initially I was worried about using a USB for the input for my stream, which is why I looked for other alternatives. But when I found nothing, I figured I would give it a try. So I bought a USB for it and plugged in BOTH the USB AND the HDMI. What I found is that just having the EOS Webcam Utility app open kept my camera from automatically shutting off. That being said, I am still using the HDMI output for better quality. So as long as you have a USB connected, the EOS Webcam Utility app open(not minimized) and the power settings set to never shut off, you will be able to use your DSLR as a streaming camera without having to reset it every 30 minutes. I wasn't able to find this info anywhere online and had to figure it out trial and error style, so you're welcome. Follow me on Twitch or TT @koloscole
